INTRODUCING: "Finish the Painting" Fundraiser with Amanda Hawthorne of Live Well Paint Often
Andrew was an exceptionally talented artist and renaissance man. His two favorite sayings were, “A real artist is never done” when he was creating in art class, and “I love to create together.” In the spirit of both those “Andrew-isms,” The Andrew McMorris Foundation is excited to announce our first “Finish the Painting Fundraiser” on Friday, April 9.
This was the last painting that Andrew was working on. He began it on 9/24/2018, just six days before he passed.
When and where is the fundraiser?
The event is scheduled for Friday, April 9 at 7:30 PM. It will be a virtual event, live streamed on Zoom. Our talented artist friend Amanda Hawthorne of Live Well Paint Often (you may remember her live painting our first Andrew McMorris Foundation Gala Fundraiser in 2019!) will be teaching the class from her studio, and will be live streaming it to our participants.
What will we be painting?
We’ll be “finishing” one of Andrew’s paintings. This is a painting that Andrew never got to finish - he began it six days before he passed.
The image on the left is Andrew’s inspiration. The image in the middle is Andrew’s unfinished painting. The image on the right is Amanda’s sample image, and the one we’ll be creating in the class.
Do you need to have art experience to join the class?
No, you don’t need any art experience at all. This class is for everyone from extreme beginners who’ve never touched a paintbrush before to experienced artists. From our teacher Amanda:
Let's paint together, heal together, create together, and grow together.
It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or an advanced painter. This is not about perfection. This is about connecting to the healing power of creativity and the process. The purpose of this workshop is to allow the brush to flow without any judgement or expectation. There are NO rules. We are going to create for the sake of creating and forget about the results.
