How To Get Involved

There are so many ways to get involved and help the Andrew McMorris Foundation: through donating, volunteering, and helping spread the word about impaired driving, we can all make a difference in the lives of others in ways large and small - just like Andrew.

Join the Coalition to Prevent New Yorkers from Drugged Driving

This broad coalition of traffic safety advocates, criminal justice professionals, businesses and organizations was formed to urge passage of a law to close the dangerous loopholes in drugged driving.

Join The Grieving Families Coalition

The Grieving Families Coalition is a group of New Yorkers committed to ensuring that when loved ones are lost in senseless and tragic incidents, the state recognizes the emotional suffering of those who loved them most. While often that might mean a spouse or a child, there are many surviving close family members who are left out of New York’s antiquated wrongful death statute. Not every family is built the same way - and when we unfairly lose people we are closest to, we deserve compensation based on our bonds of love, not on arbitrary legal designations.

DONATE

The Andrew McMorris Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and all donations are tax-deductible. All of our proceeds go directly to supporting the Foundation’s work - funding grants and scholarships, advocating legislative changes to Congress, state, and local lawmakers, and direct action to help end drunk and impaired driving for good.

Every donation made goes towards supporting our work - learn more about what we do here.

STAY CONNECTED

Our email newsletter has the latest on events, foundation news, and more. Be the first to know when we release benefit tickets, new merch, or have a new legislative call to action.

EDUCATE

Educate everyone you know on the dangers of drunk driving, and never drive drunk: not even once, not even if it’s just down the street, not even if you’ve only had one drink.

  • Celebrate responsibly - it’s never been easier to find a ride-share service or even the number of a local cab company.

  • When hosting an event, have non-alcoholic beverages and mocktails as accessible and easy-to-find as the beer and booze - this makes a difference!

  • If you see someone get behind the wheel after drinking too much, call the police immediately. Your actions can save the life of not just your friend, but the lives of the people on the road with them that day.

You don’t have to be a superhero to save a life. Call a cab, find a friend, save a life, start a trend!

Attend Events

Attend the Foundation’s Annual Gala Fundraiser in September and other fun events throughout the year like 5Ks, Fun Runs, Walkathons, Art Classes, and more.

We often partner with other nonprofits like MADD to raise money for their cause, or with Boy Scouts to raise money for AMF Scholarships and Boy Scout Scouterships.

#ANDREWROCKS!

Started by Andrew’s friends and family, the #AndrewRocks project is becoming a worldwide phenomenon. People all over the world are painting rocks with #AndrewRocks and #FlyHighAndrew on them, then leaving them in spots across the globe for others to find to spread the spirit of Andrew’s life.

HELP CHILD VICTIMS WITH A CARLIE BEAR

Carlie McDonald was a little girl who was killed in a DUI crash in 1998. Many victims of drunk drivers are children - MADD created its Carlie Bear program in Carlie’s honor. Carlie Bears are given to child victims of drunk driving accidents to help ease their fear and trauma. Donate to Carlie Bears here.
